These handcuff cases are made with quality materials. The stitching is nice and the design is extremely low-profile. I wanted to like these handcuffs enough to use them at work (full-time patrol officer and K9 Handler), but they have one fatal flaw.

The retention is very poor. I wear two pairs of handcuffs on my duty belt. One at the 1 o’clock position and the other at the 4 to 5 o’clock (just behind my ASP). If I bend forward, the handcuffs at my 1 o’clock fall out every time. There is too much flex in the backing of the handcuff case which pushes the cuffs forward and unsnaps the button. Furthermore, the handcuff pouch at my 4 to 5 o’clock position unsnaps whenever I’m sitting in my patrol vehicle. I must continuously snap the button back in place when I leave the car.

I think that if the backing was made of a more rigid material, and if the material covered more of the handcuff surfaces, the handcuffs would be more secure. I’ll continue to use my kydex handcuff cases for now.

Love this handcuff holder so much I’ve got at least one on every belt. I run peerless hinged and chained, and S&W chained. The small pouch fits em all without issue. The peerless hinged cuffs fit snug in the small pouch and it’s perfect. Chained cuffs have a bit of a jingle in the small pouch but it’s not terribly loud if you need to be stealthy. 10/10 would recommend. The molle mountable pouch is easy to install and the normal belt mountable is as easy as it gets.

I have Asp ultra chain cuffs. I bought this case in black/large w/ MOLLE backing. I mounted it to my Blue Alpha MOLLE Duty belt at 1 o’clock using OneWrap. I’ve been using them for about two weeks working patrol in an extremely active jurisdiction.

The cuffs fit in the case, but it’s not a snug fit. I thought that wouldn’t matter too much since there is a button for retention. However, on three separate occasions over the past two weeks, the cuffs have fallen out of the case. Two occasions were during foot pursuits. One was while I was sitting in my cruiser.

I believe that what is happening is that the backing material flexes with the movement of my leg. The flexing is enough to push the pawl close enough to the button to disengage it.

It’s possible that I may be able to mitigate this by mounting the case higher on my belt, but doing so causes the top of the case to press against the bottom of my vest. It also may be possible to mitigate this by mounting the cuffs anywhere between 3 o’clock to 9 o’clock, but that’s just not where I like my cuffs to be.

I wanted to like these – I bought them to replace a cuff case that I never had any issues with. Unfortunately, this case is just not going to work well with how I wear my cuffs and I will be going back to my old case.

I think that if you wear your cuffs on your vest or anywhere between 3 o’clock to 9 o’clock, then you should not run into the issue that I ran into. The case itself seems to be well-built and based on Blue Alpha’s pedigree, I have no doubt that the materials used will hold up.

This works great. I wear it on my Blue Alpha EDC belt for work. The only thing I would change is to make the snap stronger. I love it and use it every day.

BA’s customer service was a home run. They contacted me, listened to my issues and without request, and no excuses, issued me a refund. I don’t care about the money, but I do care about how a business treats its customers. Buying a new belt right now from them along with the torniquet accessory.
